The time and knowledge that Alfred "Dats" Dato has gained over the years are what have led to his seemingly careful technique He makes use of the opportunity to speak with other artists and be around individuals w ho share his interests and passions in order to share ideas, insights, and thoughts.

In 1995, Dats started taking part in group shows, and in 2011, he held a solo exhibition. He views his creations as compositions that are the result of his own ideas and perceptions. His surroundings have afforded him beautiful weaving-like things to paint on his canvas. His artistic endeavors aim to both display his extensive heritage and evoke nostalgia in viewers. The natural beauty of his surroundings, people and places become his inspiration to create art.
