Collection: Arlynda Alvarez Tuscano

Arlynda Alvarez Tuscano is an artist residing in Mandalayong City. She was born in Candoni Negros Occidental on February 28, 1981, but raised in Sagbat Morong Rizal. She started to paint portraits in 2004 by using charcoal as her medium; however, she decided to explore acrylic paint and oils. She was inspired by her brother’s talent and passion for the arts, and watching him win the grand prize of the 13th GSIS National Art Competition in 2017 sparked her own artistic journey. His dedication to his craft motivated her to pursue her dream of becoming an artist.

She was captivated by the beauty of trees, so she began to make it a subject. Her paintings are her own way to express appreciation for the trees that stood tall for centuries. Inspired by the intricate patterns of bark and the dance of leaves, Arlynda creates an expressive work that invites the viewer to step into the forest.

Her style is a combination of vivid colors and texture that conveys a great feeling of touching an actual tree bark and leaves. Arlynda Ofter incorporates mixed media elements to add depth and dimensionality to her works.
