Collection: Danny Rayos Del Sol
Trained initially as corporate and business person, Danny’s awakening in the world of arts was a result of his midlife crisis. Toying on an egg gifted by friend Dante Ang of Manila Times. He discovered the nature and characteristics of a new medium presented to him
The Series of experimentation produced an exploration of different detailed flowing lines, geometric patterns, delicate cuts, done layer by layer creating emotive faces and patterns in 2D vision, carved on a ostrich egg shell, a unique medium that sets him different from the rest. Known as the lone ostrich egg artist in the Philippines. he in corporates metal and wood with his delicate crafting of egg in one unique expressive art piece
Rayos Del Sol’s Body of works depicting figures, patterns - both original and derivative of folk iconography shows his advocacy of freedom, peace and his sense of inner spirituality; a representation of his retrospection brought by his activism during the Marcos era. The precision and skill in rendering lifelike figures on an ostrich egg leveled up the traditional African craft into fine art.
Recently he introduced a new medium, sculpture on skulls (carabao and cow skulls). And Today, he finally have the courage to show his paintings in public which he set aside for over two decades.
