Dominic Escobar, originally hailing from Tukuran, Zamboanga del Sur, is an artist often described as serene and soulful. Born in 1995, he grew up surrounded by the sublime provincial landscapes and rich folk traditions of his hometown. Despite his humble beginnings, Dominic pursued a degree in AB Philosophy as a seminarian. Although he decided not to pursue priesthood, his passion for the arts continued to burn brightly.
As a self-taught artist, Dominic is proficient in both wet and dry media, but he has developed a deep affinity for working with oils, which is evident in his recent body of works. His impressionistic brushstrokes and use of color evoke nostalgia, transporting his audience to a place that feels like "home." His skillful rendering of images creates a harmonious connection with nature, exuding a refreshing vibe. Dominic's favorite theme revolves around celebrating Filipino culture, but he has also earned praise for his stylish portraits.
Recently, Dominic made a bold decision to leave his hometown and move to the bustling city of Manila, Philippines.
