Collection: Janddie Castillo

“Master of Splash Art” is the title given to Janddie Castillo, a Far Eastern University Bachelor of Fine Arts Batch 1995 alumni. He has successfully mastered Splash/Splatter Technique or Wisik in Tagalog on his nature inspired subjects using Palette Knife or Brush and vivid color combinations to make an art style that is truly Filipino and truly Castillo’s own. He is the son of Nelson Castillo a visual artist known as the "Father of Miniature Painting" here in the Philippines. Castillo has been generating serious interest among collectors in the art scene via his eleven (12) highly successful solo art exhibits, seventy (70 plus) group shows, numerous art contests and awards, art fairs, and workshops.

He has matured into one of the fastest rising contemporary artists of our time. Janddie also featured his mini paintings on stone and wisik art in different local television channels like GMA7, TV5, PTV4 and ABS-CBN. Janddie Castillo’s works may initially appear to be merely the outcome of immediate observation of the environment. In actuality they are composed of complex streaks and spots of diverse hues collectively reinforced to result in a visual artistic triumph. Castillo’s unique works examine his enthusiastic form of motion painting, in which sensations become visual emotions resulting in a new and poignant response. Janddie explores emotions, ideas, and concepts vividly and vibrantly to create works that essentially capture the allure and solidity of the earth, and in the process enigmatically, its evanescence.
