Collection: Jojo Dela Cruz
Born in Binangonan Rizal, Jojo Dela Cruz was orphaned at a very young aged and went off to lived with relatives in Hagonoy, Bulacan. He lives there today, now with his wife and four children.
His interest in art nurtured as early as secondary school when his adviser and coach encouraged him to represent the school in art competitions, winning several awards and plaques of recognition in the process.
The use of "takukong" in his artworks captures at extraordinary lengths the story of his visual compositions, thus giving integrity and depth to his artistry. Meanwhile, the old chlothes that he paints are his tribute to the clothes worn by his grandmother way back.
Today, Jojo is highly versatile artist in many media, he sculpts in woods, fiberglass and clay, and paints on canvas, concrete and wood. He even undertakes landscape projects and designs waterfalls for them. He is also a tattoo artist.
