Lauro “Larry” Memije was born in Sta. Cruz, Manila 1950. ( Nostalgic realism) A year of engineering, UE 1968. One year of Architecture, FEATI Univ. BFA Advtg FEATI. Joined the faculty at FEATI and FEU after graduation. First solo, Little Gallery, 1975. Paints old houses and jars in fine, realist style. Some of the ancestral homes he has painted are those of the Quema family of Taal, Batangas, Atty Rene Puno of Batangas, and the old house of the Manosa family near San Sebastian Church. Major shows abroad include Four Filipino Artist (with Mario Mumar, Mike Miguel, and Carlo Magno) at Chicago’s Samuel Stein Gallery under the auspices of the Phil Consul General, 1984. Included in the group exhibit organized by Norma Liongoren and Lorna Montilla for the Pembroke Gallery in Houston, Texas, 1985. First Hon mention at the Mla Zoo on-the-spot contest sponsored by the Office of the Mayor, Ma, 1972. Second place spot competition, Capitol Jaycees,1974 (20th CENT Vol II- MD)
