Collection: Melchor Tagana

Melchor Tagana is a self-taught contemporary artist. He started early in his art practice, going the usual route of participating and winning in local contests as a young student until his college days. After graduating from his Interior Design course, he supplemented art making with his computer and graphic design skills, venturing into commercial art, photography, and teaching. His work is tactile, influenced by materials and texture. Tagana describes his paintings as internal landscapes that attempt to give tangible form to inner human emotions that include unbridled joy, grief, love and more sense of emotional depth. He shapes his works through a meditative process, integrating vibrant earth colours, providing movement, and setting elements in interesting compositions. He is the current President of Kolor han Biswal Arte nga Waraynon (Kolorbanwa).
