Collection: Ruel Rosello
Rosello spent seventeen years as a photojournalist for a local daily, struggling to squeeze in time to paint. Primarily known for his signature characters, which include the Sr. Santo Nino de Cebu, Rosello paints his figures with bug-eyes and crooked teeth, in settings that demonstrate Cebu’s vibrant and diverse culture, whether in play or fiestas and spiritual devotion.
He believes that his skill and experience in photography has helped him create well balanced compositions, his faux naïve paintings playful bursts of colors.
