Raymund R. Valencia, a visual artist born in Bario Magtanggol, Muñoz, Nueva Ecija, graduated with a degree in Fine Arts from the University of Santo Tomas in 1964.

Throughout his career, Raymund actively participated in numerous group exhibitions and art competitions, earning several notable awards, including:

  • 1960: 1st Prize for his painting "Ecce Homo" at the UST Fra Angelico Students Art Competition.
  • 1960: 1st Prize for "Fifteen Decades of the Rosary" in the 1st Students Religious Art Competition, sponsored by Travelers Life Assurance, later featured in their 1961 calendar.
  • 1960: 2nd Prize for "Riverside" in the 10th Shell Students Art Competition.
  • 1963: 1st Prize for "Bird Woman" in painting, and 1st Prize in graphic arts for "Going to Market" at the 13th Shell National Students Art Competition.
  • 1963: 1st Prize in the Modern Art category for his painting at the 4th Students Religious Art Competition, also sponsored by Travelers Life Assurance.

Raymund's work has been featured in prominent exhibitions, including the Christmas Group Show at the Philippine Art Gallery in 1965, the Group Show Sixty-Eight at the Luz Art Gallery in 1968, and the Group Show Nineteen Seventy at the Luz Art Gallery in 1970.
