Product Description

Few possess the innate ability to capture the enchanting allure of women and children, but Lito Milan is one such artist.

Born into a poor family in Biliran, Leyte, Philippines, Milan has always been blessed with an artistic spirit. His talent emerged early, with his first sketches at the age of seven captivating those around him. From then on, his remarkable command of colors and ability to create subtle images on paper or canvas have been closely observed and admired.

Milan’s exceptional drawing skills led many to encourage him to pursue painting. This encouragement inspired him to abandon his dream of becoming a pilot and delve deeper into the world of art. He studied painting at the University of the Philippines but had to drop out due to financial constraints. Despite this setback, his mentors recognized his potential and urged him to continue painting.

In 1982, Milan began participating in prestigious competitions, winning a major award from the National Museum for Portrait Entry. This achievement propelled him into numerous exhibitions and solo shows. He was also commissioned to create murals for Rustan’s and several Starbucks Coffee Shops in the Philippines.

Milan's work is distinguished by his sultry renditions of beautiful young women and children playing innocently against vibrant, colorful backgrounds. These exquisite pieces now grace stately homes, legislative halls, and private art collections.
